Canadian armored vehicle manufacturer INKAS is increasing its manufacturing output in the United States with a major expansion of its production facilities. The company has leased two new sites: a 200,000-square-foot armored vehicle production facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a 31,000-square-foot first-time facility in Fort Pierce, Florida. These new locations are expected to be fully operational by July 31, 2026, more than doubling INKAS’s total North American production space.
The Charlotte facility offers immediate access to an experienced workforce skilled in armored vehicle manufacturing, enabling INKAS to scale its operations quickly without having to build capabilities from scratch. The Fort Pierce facility represents the company’s inaugural manufacturing presence in Florida, broadening its geographic reach within the United States.
Together with an additional 42,000-square-foot site in Toronto, Canada, these new facilities add approximately 273,000 square feet of production space. This expansion is designed to meet growing demand from customers across defense, government, law enforcement, commercial security, and specialized vehicle markets. INKAS manufactures a diverse portfolio including armored passenger vehicles, tactical platforms, unmanned aerial vehicles, cash-in-transit vehicles, and custom-built systems for specialized purposes.
The increased production capacity aims to improve manufacturing flexibility and operational resilience, supporting current programs and positioning the company for future growth. This expansion aligns with broader trends in North American defense manufacturing, where companies are investing in domestic production capacity to better serve government and commercial clients.
Founded more than 30 years ago, INKAS has established itself as a significant player in the armored vehicle sector. The new investments in manufacturing facilities reflect the company’s strategy to strengthen its industrial footprint and respond to rising demand for advanced armored and special-purpose vehicles.
