Curtiss-Wright Corporation, a leading provider of aerospace, defense, and industrial technologies, announced a significant $80 million multi-year investment to expand its operations at its Cheswick, Pennsylvania facility. The expansion plan includes the construction of two new buildings on the company’s existing 118-acre campus, which will enhance manufacturing and testing capabilities tailored for critical naval defense and commercial nuclear markets.
The announcement came in early July 2026 and represents a continuation of Curtiss-Wright’s commitment to maintaining and growing its industrial footprint in the United States. The expansion project is expected to create about 150 new jobs over the next three years while retaining more than 860 current positions at the site. This investment bolsters the company’s ability to meet the increasing demand for advanced canned motor pumps, motors, generators, and control rod drive mechanisms used extensively in naval and nuclear applications.
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development is supporting the project with a $1.21 million grant through the PA SITES program, reflecting both state and federal interest in sustaining robust industrial and defense manufacturing capacity domestically.
Curtiss-Wright’s CEO Lynn M. Bamford emphasized that this expansion is integral to the company’s strategy to remain a critical supplier for their defense and nuclear customers for the next decade and beyond. The facility in Cheswick has long been a key site for product design, manufacturing, and testing, and this investment will deepen its role as a hub for cutting-edge technology.
The project aligns with broader national efforts to strengthen U.S. manufacturing and supply chains in strategic sectors, supporting economic growth and workforce development in the region. Construction is underway with the new facilities expected to come online incrementally over the next few years.
