INNIO N.V., a leading provider of gas engine technology, has unveiled plans to invest more than $300 million in its facility located in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The expansion, announced in August 2026, aims to create more than 500 new jobs over the next several years while significantly upgrading the plant’s capabilities to meet growing market demand.
The project includes the addition of new engine assembly lines and the construction of an advanced engine testing facility exceeding 80,000 square feet. Upgrades will also be made to office spaces and shop floors to support expanded operations. These investments are designed to accommodate a surge in demand for decentralized energy solutions, particularly from the fast-growing data center segment, which relies heavily on reliable, efficient power generation technologies.
Local officials and economic development groups have expressed support for the project, highlighting its potential to bolster the regional manufacturing sector and assist in workforce growth. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has indicated that it may offer up to $6 million in tax credits if INNIO meets specified investment and hiring benchmarks.
This expansion marks a strategic step for INNIO as it reinforces its production capacity and service capabilities in the United States, aligning with broader trends toward resilient and decentralized energy infrastructure. The company’s move also underscores ongoing industrial investments in Wisconsin, contributing to the state’s profile as a hub for advanced manufacturing and energy technology development.
The creation of over 500 jobs is expected to have a meaningful impact on the local workforce, providing opportunities in engineering, manufacturing, and technical roles. As INNIO scales its operations, the facility is poised to serve the increasing energy needs of data centers and other critical sectors reliant on natural gas and hybrid power systems.
