Stanley Black & Decker to Invest $1 Billion in U.S. Manufacturing and R&D

Stanley Black & Decker announced a $1 billion investment plan through 2028 to enhance innovation, expand U.S. manufacturing capacity, and develop the skilled trades workforce.

Stanley Black & Decker, a leading global manufacturer of industrial tools and security products, has unveiled plans to invest $1 billion in the United States over the next several years. The investment, scheduled through 2028, targets strengthening U.S. manufacturing operations, advancing research and development, and expanding workforce training programs.

Approximately 50% of the investment will be directed toward research and development initiatives aimed at creating next-generation tools and breakthrough solutions to meet evolving market demands. The remaining half will fund capital expenditures to boost manufacturing capabilities across its U.S.-based facilities, supporting both production expansion and new product development efforts.

In addition to manufacturing and R&D, Stanley Black & Decker plans to allocate significant resources toward workforce development, including its ‘DEWALT Grow the Trades’ initiative, which focuses on training and empowering skilled trades workers essential to America’s infrastructure and industrial base.

The company emphasized that this multi-year investment aligns with its strategic focus on innovation, electrification, and reinforcing its domestic manufacturing footprint amid dynamic supply chain and regulatory environments. Based in New Britain, Connecticut, Stanley Black & Decker views the investment as a critical step to support long-term growth while contributing to the revitalization of American manufacturing and skilled labor sectors.
