JetZero, an emerging aerospace company, announced on July 20, 2026, that it has signed a Letter of Interest (LOI) with the U.S. Export-Import Bank (EXIM) to explore financing options of up to $3 billion for its planned aerospace manufacturing campus in Greensboro, North Carolina. The agreement was signed at the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow and is part of EXIM’s Make More in America initiative, which aims to support domestic manufacturing expansion.
The proposed JetZero facility, located at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, represents a significant industrial investment valued at more than $4.7 billion. The project is expected to create more than 14,500 direct manufacturing jobs in North Carolina alongside an additional 53,000 indirect jobs across the U.S., positioning it as a major employment and economic development milestone in the region.
Under the terms of the LOI, JetZero and EXIM will jointly assess potential financing structures to cover construction of manufacturing facilities, production systems, equipment, and related eligible project costs. However, JetZero emphasizes that the LOI does not constitute a financing commitment. Any future support from EXIM would require comprehensive underwriting, due diligence, environmental and legal reviews, and board approval.
This cooperation with EXIM points to the growing role of government-backed financing in fostering large-scale aerospace manufacturing projects within the United States. JetZero’s move to establish and expand its Greensboro campus aligns with broader efforts to strengthen U.S. aerospace production capacity and supply chain resilience.
The financing exploration with EXIM adds a notable dimension to the company’s planned expansion, supporting the company’s ambitions to scale manufacturing domestically while contributing significantly to local industrial growth and labor market activity.
